Bright steel is a semi-finished product for shaft, axis, piston rod, grinding rod, etc. After cutting, grinding or machining, it becomes final product.

Bright steel is peeled round steel or copper, aluminum, which is peeled first. The peeling is to remove the oxidization layer on raw material rods. After peeling, it is straightened by roller grinding and reaches the first level roughness of 1.6μm. It is centerless-grinded for higher roughness of less than 0.4μm.

Hard chrome coating is adopted to improve surface hardness. Other after treatment like tempering, quenching, heat treatment, nitriding and carburizing are available by request.

The most frequent raw material for bright steel is #45 carbon steel, with others like alloy steel, spring steel, axis steel, tool and die steel, free-cutting steel and stainless steel. Copper and aluminum can also be processed.
